Behaviour Policy
Our Discipline Policy builds on the partnership between home and school and, central to the policy, is that children can get themselves out of trouble and through a reward system giving them the opportunity to start afresh.
Charging and Remissions
Jackfield Infant School endorses the principles of the 1988 Education Act in maintaining the right to free education for all children. The act allows the discretion to charge for optional activities provided wholly or mainly out of school hours, and the right to invite voluntary contributions for the benefit of the school or in support of any activity organised by the school whether during or outside school hours.
End Of Day Children Collection
This policy is drawn up to ensure the safe departure of pupils from school at the end of the day. The policy places a number of responsibilities on staff and parents to secure the safety of all pupils leaving the school.
Complaints Procedure
Jackfield Infant School has a very good relationship with the parents and carers of the children who attend the school and the excellent work done by staff to foster and develop this relationship means that the potential for complaints is kept to a minimum. It is important however, that all staff have a clear understanding about the difference between a concern and a complaint. Taking informal concerns seriously at an early stage will reduce the number that can develop into formal complaints.
E-Safety Policy
E-Safety encompasses Internet technologies and electronic communications such as mobile phones as well as collaboration tools and personal publishing. It highlights the need to educate pupils about the benefits and risks of using technology and provides safeguards and awareness for users to enable them to control their online experience.
Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) requires public bodies, including schools, to be clear and proactive about the information it will make public.

Jewellery Policy
The risk of injury from children wearing jewellery in school gets greater every day. The claim culture we live in could potentially cost our school a lot of money which should be spent on your child.
No Smoking Policy
“Education for the health begins in the home, where patterns or behaviour and attitudes influence health for good or ill, throughout life and will be established before the child is 5. The tasks for schools are to support and promote attitudes, practices and understanding conducive to good health. In so far as they are unable to counteract influences which are not conducive to good health, they should do so with sensitive regard to the relationship which exists between children and their families.” –H.M.S.O. (1986) Curriculum Matters 6: Health Education from 5 – 16

Racial Equality
Education has a fundamental role to play in eliminating racism and in promoting and valuing cultural diversity. Racism and prejudice have no place in our schools or our city. Everyone in our education system is expected to take positive action to prevent and challenge racism. Our curriculum strives to prepare all pupils for life in a world where they will meet, live and work with people of different cultures, religions, languages and ethnic backgrounds.
