KEY PRIORITIES OF SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
- Language, vocabulary and oracy are developed through all areas of the curriculum ensuring the learning gap for all children is closed and learning opportunities are effective in developing literacy skills.
- To develop a love of Reading culture which supports all children and motivates progress and attainment.
- To scaffold writing through talk and metacognitive strategies to ensure progress for all.
- To support progress in Maths with the use of oracy strategies to develop reasoning and fluency.
- To ensure high quality adult interaction through facilitation and questioning to develop children’s oracy and knowledge and as a result pupils’ progress is good and attainment is in line with national.
- Metacognitive strategies are consistently planned for and staff have an excellent understanding of child development and cognitive strategies.
- To further develop staff knowledge of a wide range of neurodiversity to support all pupils effectively and ensuring good progress for all SEND pupils.
Behaviours and Attitudes
- To ensure all pupils have a strong awareness of their own emotions and the strategies for self-regulation, with support by adults when needed.
- Create an environment in which all pupils feel they belong and feel safe; an environment that allows them to thrive as individuals and as learners
- Monitor attendance and punctuality regularly to strive to meet National expectations.
Personal Development
- To develop the curriculum beyond the academic to enable learners to develop and discover their own interests and talents.
- To develop and share a better understanding of sustainability and climate change, alongside providing first-hand experience of creating nature-based solutions to climate change in the school grounds
Leadership and Management
- Each subject leader to promote their subject with pupils and the wider school community.
- To implement assessment and tracking within each subject.
- To engage effectively with the wider school community, offering a support network which in turns enhances the school population.
