Environmental Partnership

As a Global Environmental Partner with The British Ironworks Centre, we are pleased to announce that we are taking part in the Great Ocean Trawler Challenge. A fishing trawler net will be installed along the fence at the entrance to the playground. Kindly collect your crisp packets and confectionary wrappers and drop them off in our net. Feel free to share with other as this is a community project. We have Eco Leaders in KS1 that will help to run the project.

The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of waste entering the environment and our oceans. With fish and ocean mammals living in deteriorating habitats we need to step in and reduce the amount of plastic entering our natural world.

Our collected packets will be donated by The British Ironworks Centre to organisations that can make good use of them by turning them into items, such as, survival blankets for homeless people.

We will compete against other schools to collect the most crisp and confectionary packets. The winners have the opportunity to have a sculpture from the British Ironworks Centre displayed in our school.
